Liverpool Life Sciences UTC, the first school in the UK to specialise in science and healthcare have recorded a 99% pass rate across all A Level subjects in the school’s first set of results since opening in 2013.
Based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, Liverpool Life Sciences UTC provides a specialist learning environment for the city’s young people to advance into the life sciences and healthcare sectors.
Overall students performed exceptionally well, with 94% of students achieving 3 A Levels, 63% of which were grade A* to C. Many students will now successfully access their universities places, including numerous Russell Group Universities.
Amongst those celebrating their A Level results at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC was Bethany Gwyther, who attained three A* grades to secure her place at the University of St Andrews to study Medicine.
Adam Weaver secured a place studying Astrophysics at the University of Manchester with his results A* A* A, which will see him taught Quantum Physics by course leader Professor Brian Cox.
Anastasia Roberts will be attending the University of York to study Chemistry after her result of three straight A grades secured her place, and Millie Miller is going on to study Nursing at the University of Birmingham after achieving two Distinction Stars and an A.
Other students have accessed high quality apprenticeships including business, IT and science technician roles and direct employment with local businesses including Jaguar Landrover and Thirlmere Court Residential Home.
