A Level Success

North Liverpool Academy has achieved another bumper set of results.  We have a continuing tradition of students gaining excellent applied learning qualifications alongside our A-Level provision.  We are proud of every one of our students and look forward to them taking the next step be it to Higher Education or employment.   The school saw many individual successes this year with students heading on far and wide, their grades allowing them to access their chosen degree courses and Apprenticeships. Academy students will be attending all four of the local Universities as well as those in Teesside, London Southbank, Sussex and the British and Irish Music Institute in Manchester.

Whilst being proud of all of our students and their achievements several student achievements are worth noting.

Particular successes include Otis who, having achieved an A* and two  A grades across his subjects, is leaving us to join the University of Liverpool to read Engineering. Otis’s Product Design teacher Mr Fitzpatrick was delighted with his success commenting “Otis has worked phenomenally hard this year and his wonderful grades demonstrate how hard work brings fantastic results. I know Otis will achieve great things in the future and I want to wish him the very best of luck!”

Fellow Year 13 student Riluxana will be joining Otis at the University of Liverpool, studying Accounting and Finance. The Academy is incredibly proud of Riluxana who has overcome great challenges during her time at the school. Joining us in Year 10 from Sri Lanka Riluxana worked tirelessly to build her English Language skills. In those  four short years she has made amazing progress and  she leaves us with two Distinction*, an A and a C. Riluxana said “I want to thank all the school and teachers, as well as my fellow sixth form students. I couldn’t single one person out as everyone has been so helpful.”

Student Magda joined the Academy for Sixth Form and now leaves us to join the hustle and bustle of London at South Bank University to study Digital Design. Magda said “I was nervous starting a new school for Sixth Form but now feel at home here. I’m excited to start my new journey but will definitely be back to visit.”

Another notable success has been Lisa who, securing fantastic grades in her Applied Learning subjects (forensic science and performing arts) is now continuing with her passion – photography. Having already been contracted to cover Manchester Fashion Week she will be covering Liverpool Fashion Week. Lisa said “the staff are incredibly helpful and the school gave me so many opportunities to practice my photography skills at events and performances. I couldn’t thank Mr Blanchard more, who spent lots of time teaching me additional skills.”

Mr Blanchard celebrated Lisa’s success saying “I was so thankful for all Lisa’s help at events throughout her time at the school. She is going to be sorely missed but I’m so pleased that she’s going on to follow her dream.”

Principal Mr Stead said “Everyone at North Liverpool Academy would like to congratulate all of our students on their A Level and Applied Learning results. The results they have achieved are a testament to their hard work and diligence over the past years in the sixth form and I know that the students would want me to thanks on their behalf all of the staff at North Liverpool Academy for going the extra mile to help them achieve these well-deserved result.

We wish them all the very best for the future and know that the sixty plus students who are going onto university will make the very best of the next stage of their education.”
