The Kingsway Academy is now accepting applications for its new Sixth Form curriculum offer with three new specialist pathways available to students from across the Wirral in September 2016.
Located in the heart of the community, The Kingsway Academy opened in September 2014 with the vision of becoming the academy of choice for families on the Wirral. Since opening, the academy has implemented a progressive and inclusive learning programme and achieved an impressive 100% pass rate across all A Level courses in 2015.
The three new Sixth Form pathways at The Kingsway Academy; Professional and Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences, combine traditional A Level and BTEC qualifications that are tailored to the future needs of young people on the Wirral. Each pathway takes into account local and national skill shortages and emerging employment opportunities across the region, with each sector expected to grow significantly over the next 15 years. Each pathway is supported by businesses across the region to offer students life changing opportunities including work placements, masterclasses, business mentoring and personal statement enhancing enrichment activities.
Principal, Amanda Cawood said:
“We are very excited to be announcing three new Sixth Form career pathways at the academy after significant investment from the Northern Schools Trust. Our new pathways for Post-16 students offer a direct route into employment or further education through university or an apprenticeship and offer a successful future for every student.
“Our number one priority is the success of our students and we have turned our full focus to improving the education opportunities available for them at the academy. My promise to families is that we will provide outstanding opportunities and excellent academic provision, with every student progressing into higher education, employment or an apprenticeship.”
The Kingsway Academy is accepting applications to join the Sixth Form in September 2016 through the website at www.kingsway.academy/apply. The academy is also hosting a Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday 24th November from 6 – 8pm.
