Developed with the support of sponsors, The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trust and University of Liverpool, as well as a range of national health and social care sector organisations and local employers, The Care Academy offers a range of academic and vocational qualifications for students aged 16+. Programmes include professional accreditations, practical training with clinical educators and traditional academic qualifications.

Principal, Ian Parry says:

“We have been working on plans for many months alongside health and social care sector specialists to launch a dedicated Care Academy for Liverpool,” said Mr Parry. “The £17 million investment in the new Royal Hospital and the new technologies associated with this improved care offering presents a glittering opportunity for our young people, as well as driving improved local health, economic growth and social enhancement in our community. We are keen to maximise this opportunity for our young people locally.

“Crucially we want to ignite passion for the health and social care sector among the younger generations who stand to benefit from the innovations in this sector locally. The mission of the Royal Hospital is to deliver a workforce brimming with enthusiasm, vitality and skill to support improved health outcomes locally. We have delivered a model within science that offers this locally by uniting young people, schools and business across the region. We are delighted to be able to offer the same opportunities into health and social care.”
