North Liverpool Academy has achieved the Career Connect Quality Award for Excellence in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance. The award is accredited and approved by the Quality in Careers Standard and provides a quality standard for the management and delivery of CEIAG in schools and colleges.
The award recognises the hard work and dedication of all members of staff at the Academy to ensure that every student has a destination after they leave the school. The assessors spent a rigorous few days with the Academy, checking all provision which falls under the iLead Programme.
The report recognised that the Academy provides “a diverse and well planned programme of activities embedded in the iLead programme. This programme provides incentives to students via a house rewards system of collecting GEMS. The programme is complemented by independent and impartial advice from the professionally qualified Career Connect Adviser. This is underpinned with careers related content in subject lessons.”
It goes on to say “The Academy’s commitment to developing informed and confident students is evident, and is evidenced in the wide ranging extra curricular activities available to pupils. There is a keenness for pupils to be consulted on how the Academy operates and their opinion is highly valued.”
Careers Coordinator Mrs Nolan adds “At North Liverpool Academy we recognise the importance and value of providing our learners with high quality, impartial and unbiased careers education, information and guidance.”
