Careers opportunities open up for UTC students

On 17 December 2018, Liverpool Life Sciences UTC welcomed some of the UK’s leading research and education institutions through its doors, to teach students about pathways into the future world of work.

The Allied Health Professions careers carousel was a drop-in session throughout the school day, where students could meet the people behind the professions that they wanted to enter, and glean any insider knowledge that they would need to make their dream career a reality,

We were joined by paramedics, speech and language therapists, orthoptics professionals, surgeons, voice coaches, orthopaedic surgeons and many more. Leading universities from across the country – including the University of Salford, Liverpool John Moores University, Swansea University and the University of Huddersfield – came to speak to the students, and talk about the benefits of pursuing specialised medical degrees,

One of the UTC’s former students from its original intake five years ago, Ashraf (photo: second from left), attended the careers carousel with his own business, Radshow UK – a touring radiography radio show, which he set up following his experience at the UTC. Ashraf was there alongside friends and co-founders Ridwan and Ikram, as an example of what you can achieve, thanks to the diverse range of opportunities available at the UTC.
