North Liverpool Academy has welcomed 16 primary schools from across the city to compete in the Academy’s version of The Highland Games.
A variety of activities closely linked to the Scottish pastime were attempted, including the 60 metre kiltie dash, linear shot, 1kg “D” ball and tossing the caber.
As a Sports Leaders UK Leadership Academy, one of a select few in the country, we utilised the skills of our Year 9 and 10 leaders to manage the sessions and act as officials for the event.
We received excellent feedback from all students that attended, with many saying they would love to come back and compete again.
I would like to congratulate the excellent professionalism of the leaders in completing their roles as officials, as well as their kindness and peership in working with this group of younger students.
