Starchaser Rocket Launch

Year 8 students were invited to watch the latest Starchaser rocket launch.

Following on from the successful KS3 Problem Based Learning unit of Space last year, a small group of Year 8 students were invited to watch the launch of the latest Starchaser rocket at Capesthorne Hall.

The aim of this dramatic space project is to enthuse and inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers and to raise aspirations amongst young people. The 4.1 metre rocket was to test fly vital electronic systems that will be used aboard Starchaser’s future Space Tourism rockets.

“This country needs more scientists and engineers” said Starchaser CEO Steve Bennett “what better way to inspire the next generation than with the spectacular launch of a large scale British rocket”

“It was great watching the test rockets fire into the air and getting up close the main rocket” said one of the students.

The students had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing more from the Starchaser programme.
