Year 12 students were inspired at the Liverpool Accelerate Conference this Friday.
The Accelerate motto of passion, performance and power encapsulates exactly what the conference aimed to do – build successful businessmen and women by equipping them with the tools and networking opportunities to do so.
The Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, personally welcomed all sixth form students from across the city, invited to be part of the vibrant conference.
Students were encouraged to “control your chimp” by the key note speaker Dr Steven Peters who has professionally coached Steven Gerard and Ronnie O ‘Sullivan. Academy students also opted for the Performance and Passion sessions, hosted by world-class inspirational speaker Jim Lawless and head of Brand and Creative for Innocent Smoothies, Dan Germain.
Students were especially impressed by the passion and ethos of Dan, as well as the journey of Innocent Smoothies – from a mini music festival to the biggest European fruit juice company in a very short period. Dan Germain explained how he and his team have clung to their core values and this passion for their brand was embedded throughout his talk.
Sixth Former Hope said “Dan seemed very normal yet he had achieved extraordinary things.”
Student Rachel was particularly inspired by Jim’s part of the session, commenting “I loved the interactive part of the Jim’s session becoming a professional jockey in a year shows you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
