Students Offered Industry Support for Enterprise

Two students from The Studio in Liverpool have been invited to share office space with a local software development company that specialises in creating software for education providers.

Adam G and Jordan K from Year 12 met Director, James Burch and CEO, Andy Kent of Angel Solutions at the Accelerate conference in Liverpool last month. The entrepreneurs were so impressed with Adam and Jordan’s technical knowledge that they invited the students to visit the Angel Solutions office to explore further opportunities.

John Winstanley, Innovation Lead at Angel Solutions welcomed the students into the circus themed office in Liverpool Science Park on Tuesday 10th November. The team invited Adam and Jordan to discuss ways the company could support them with work placements and technical support whilst showcasing their innovative working spaces. The office features a big top, ball pool, popcorn machine and fairground mirrors to inspire creativity across the team.

After the meeting Adam and Jordan were offered complimentary office space to continue working on their current project; a social network called Hive. The support of Angel Solutions has provided an incredible opportunity for both students to further develop their skills and knowledge, and will continue throughout the remainder of the school year.

Michael Saint-Cricq, Leader for BTEC and Vocational Education at The Studio said:

“Visiting Angel Solutions gave both students an insight into how a software development company is run and they had a chance to talk to Angel Solutions team members who work in development, design and support. The visit also provided Adam and Jordan with a real sense of how a creative office space can be set up.”
