On Friday 3rd April a group of students and staff from The Studio travelled to Walgrain in Austria for the first ever Studio ski trip.
27 students from across Years 10 and 12 from The Studio and co-located school Life Sciences UTC embarked on the trip accompanied by 3 members of staff. The group took part in 6 days of ski lessons and also had the opportunity to take part in evening activities including Austrian skittles, a quiz night and even an awards evening.
After travelling by coach and ferry for 26 hours, the group arrived in Salzberg to perfect weather, ready to be fitted for their skis, boots and helmets. The weather continued to be in the students’ favour with three days of fresh falling snow followed by temperatures of up to 25 degrees.
PE Teacher Natalie Faulkner accompanied students on the trip. She said:
“The ski trip was a truly incredible experience. The students were an absolute credit and we could not have been luckier with the weather. This sets a high standard of things to come for next year!”
