“At the heart of the Northern Schools Trust is a commitment to transform the lives of children and young people through education.”
On 1st July 2016, teachers and support staff from Liverpool Life Sciences UTC, The Studio, North Liverpool Academy and The Kingsway Academy gathered together at the UTC for a Trust CPD Day.
Throughout the course of the day attendees participated in a variety of workshops aimed at aiding personal wellbeing and enhancing teaching techniques.
After splitting off into groups, teachers and support staff headed their separate ways. The UTC was a hive of activity, with various workshops happening across the building.
In the sports hall we had a Trust badminton competition, in the classrooms teachers shared teaching and learning techniques with their colleagues from different schools, in the Mac suite students showcased their PBL (Project Based Learning) work and in the cinema, Founder and Chief Executive of the Northern Schools Trust, Nigel Ward presented his ideas and plans to take the Trust forward in the future.
Yoga proved to be quite a popular session throughout the day. However, all teachers and support staff agreed that the choir session was by far the most enjoyable!
The day as a whole was huge success – teachers and support staff from across the Trust came together to share their knowledge and expertise of working in the education sector.
We are all looking forward to the next CPD Day!
