‘University of York’ Visit

North Liverpool Academy’s new Year 12 students have visited the University of York to experience a taste of life after Sixth Form.

For three days, students stayed in halls of residence and attended lecturers and workshops to give them an insight into the world of life at University.

Activities included an introduction to managing personal finances, domestic duties and leisure time; with the aim of preparing the students for higher education and allowing them the opportunity to decide which pathway is suitable for them.

Career planning sits at the core of the Sixth Form at North Liverpool Academy and the excellent question and answer session by the ambassadors at the University of York enabled our students to explore and assess their own potential progression routes.

The Residential encouraged me further to make my decision to go to University!

In addition to visiting the University, the students explored York city centre and arranged their own evening entertainment in the form of an after dinner quiz.
