UTC students get kitted out

Health & Life Sciences pathway students received an exciting delivery this week –  in the form of professionally branded scrubs and personalised lab coats.

Notably, the scrubs arrived in light of the Life Sciences UTC’s first ever Cadet Programme launch, the first leg of which sees 6 students undergo their placements in conjunction with Royal Liverpool Hospital this December.

Health Sector Champion Hannah Randles commented:

“This past term has been a buzz of excitement for the health students and staff at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC during the health suite re-launch. Following the recruitment selection process students have settled into their health roles well and are now well equipped for their respective responsibilities. The next few months will give them the opportunity to build on their teamwork and leadership skills and provide them more responsibility for the running and day to day upkeep of the space.

There are many more sessions due to being delivered to the health suite over the coming months. Some of which involve The Brook, NHS Blood and Transplant, First Aid and our very own Surgeon in Residence. The launch of the new health suite is only the start of the opportunities that we have secured for the New Year. It’s such an exciting time to be at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC!”

Students commented:

“The new lab coats are great and much needed during PBL (project-based learning.) The fact that they’re personalised is a really cool touch and makes me want to wear them more. Plus, there’s no chance of misplacing mine now!”

“I love the new scrubs, they make me feel really official and now I’m even more excited to start my hospital placement next week!”
